"I finally finished my socks from the superwash merino /tencel in Hibiscus which I ordered from you last year. I love it! This stuff spins like a dream and is soooooo soft."

"I also have finished the second Flower Basket Shawl using your Jeans. All told, it took 4.9oz for the version you see here. I really like it and can hardly wait to take it to the next show-and-tell spin-in."

"I promised to show how thin I can spin on my lovely wheel, so here I send you some pics. Here is the thin single I spin from the fiber I bought from you. I just have to draw fiber slowly and treadle slow. |

Here I ply with the fiber I received from you as a present

And here is it done. Big hug Susan"

"I finally got my daughter over to take a picture of my wheel. - I'm so pleased with it! I used Watco oil and a Beeswax polish mix from Lee Valley on top of the rosewood stain ---and some elbow grease.
The action is great and I like it better than the Ashford Elizabeth I bought a few years ago.
Thank you again.
I found an old wooden chair at a flea market with a narrow back with a dowel running from an extension of the seat behind the back - to the top of the back - it should be a perfect spinning chair -once I get it stripped and stained to match my wheel. That's the plan anyways!" |

"From Blue Faced Leicester fiber in Sunrise.
The singles were overspun in places, but hell, it was my first real try!"

"As you can see, we received the Baynes wheel in the mail Monday morning. We had it stained by evening and after 2 coats of protector we assembled it yesterday (Thursday) morning. As you can see it did not take long to adjust and started practicing with the fibre that you sent along...We oiled it initially and as soon as the odd squeak starts and now it is just the whir of the belt...
Thank you for the beautiful wheel!" |

Swallowtail Shawl knit from Tropical Sea angora/merino yarn.

Below on the left -Baynes spun Pixie Batt in bright blues, plied with your silk sliver in Blues colorway (the shiny one in front). Merino/tencel superwash in Plummy spindle spun and plied on the Baynes, and Tropical Sea targhee spun on a spindle and plied on the Baynes (in back). All 3 were a delight to spin, especially the Pixie Batt.

I used Fruit Salad, Tamarack and Spruce and Chocolate Covered Cherries for the intarsia and I dyed the background myself. I added angora into what I had so the fibers were pretty homogeneous. |

My friend Denise and I had a booth at Corn Hill Festival and we won second prize for textiles. |
