Learn to Design your own sweater that really fits.
Even though you make swatches do your garments still not fit right?

Are you unhappy with how your inc and dec look?

Are you hesitant to tink or frog when you encounter a problem?

Separate from the crowd. Immerse yourself in your very own sweater design. Learn to take correct measurements, use a variation on EZ' percentage system and adjust for different stitch and cable gauges.
Math Phobic? Been afraid to jump into this seemingly complicated method?
Never fear-- Susan is here to guide you step-by-step through the process which will soon have you relaxed and floating.
Cathy will prepare your very own pattern customized with your very own measurements. Your choice of a seamless cardi or pullover.
4 - 5 pm
Relax and check-in to the hotel.

Dinner at 
Moosewood is celebrating its 35th year. Join us for special vegetarian treats at a special price.
$32 per person includes vegetarian entree, dinner salad, two beverages, dessert and gratuity.

Come knit/spin with Susan at the Ithaca Farmer's Market on the Cayuga Lake Inlet.
Pick up some brunch, shop, browse, watch the ducks, boats and people in Sunday dappled laziness.

Until July 1, you will receive a full refund minus 10%.
After July 10, you will receive a half refund if we have someone to take your place.

Spin the fiber for your sweater or order yarn, specially priced for participants.

Materials and Supplies List
will be provided after registration, in May, with your packet. You will need circular needles but we will let you know what sizes later.
Homework
Spinners will receive their fiber by June plus instructions for a measured swatch.
Knitters will receive enough yarn and instructions to make a measured swatch. Your hand dyed skeins will be in your very own knitting bag at the Workshop. |
Hotel Accommodations
We have garnered some very special rates at the Ithaca Country Inn and Suites.
$149 per night per room with 2 double beds, single or double occupancy, two room suites. Your suite has a couch, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, internet, hairdryer and iron. All reservations include breakfast and use of the pool, whirlpool and fitness room.

Cathy Chesnut
Cathy, a knitter since childhood, is beloved for teaching knitting classes locally. She is voracious in learning new techniques and being able to translate them to students in her classes.

Susan Sarabasha
Susan has been knitting for as long as she can remember. Once she was introduced to Elizabeth Zimmerman's ideas she began to creatively alter almost every pattern she knit. She has also designed most of the Sock Hop Patterns.
Susan taught math to middle schoolers for 22 years. Her chair said she was "The only global visual math teacher I have ever met."
She has also been teaching art workshops to adults for over 30 years. More recently she branched out into spindle and spinning classes and has even successfully taught a couple of novices through email and the phone |
